Which switch controls the light.?

There are three switches on the wall, one of which is controlling a light in the adjacent room. You cannot determine from the switch area as to whether the light is illuminated or not. The light is a bare bulb about four feet off the floor and can be seen and touched. Question: How many trips do you have to take to the light-bulb room to determine which of the switches control the light?
