Singing better so you can be pleased with your voice?

i always wanted to be a siger for a long time. i think im good but when im at school just playin a song and sing along with it ppl will be like eww u cant sing and im not even tryig and theyll be like sure u werent. so i get home and record myself and im not pleased with the voice
