Do you know that name of the archaeologist that broke into the Dome of the Rock?

I believe he may have been British, I saw a reference to him on the travel channel last night, and I can't remember his name to look it up. The story was that he broke into it in the middle of the night, and dug up the area surrounding the rock and supposedly made of with the Arc of the Covenant. Anyone know his name so I can look him up?
